"This is very positive news," said Christian Côté, Prefect of the Arthabaska MRC, referring to some of the spin-offs of the public transit pilot project.

In February alone, no fewer than 343 trips were recorded, an average of 17.15 per day.

"In just a few weeks of operation, we can see that this initiative truly meets a need in our population. I'm convinced that the popularity of our public transport offer will continue to grow over the coming months", said the prefect, reminding us that public transport is for everyone (workers, students, seniors, etc.).

Information is available on the municar.ca website.

Défi OSEntreprendre Centre-du-Québec

The Arthabaska RCM has been asked by the Association régionale de développement économique du Centre-du-Québec (ARDECQ) to become a partner in the 26th edition of the Défi OSEntreprendre.

"This major Quebec movement enables thousands of young people from pre-school to university level, as well as entrepreneurs, to showcase their business start-ups. It's an ideal opportunity to discover the next generation of entrepreneurs in our MRC. We wish all participants the best of luck," says Christian Côté.

Gestrio redesign

The MRC d'Arthabaska Council has authorized a contract worth just over $50,000 to ApolloCode, a Victorian firm, to redesign the Gestrio application for residual materials management.

The MRC wanted to offer citizens a renewed tool to facilitate the user experience and enhance the information presented.

The redesign of the application, it is explained, is in line with both technological and sustainable development, in that it will reduce the printing volume of promotional leaflets while encouraging the sorting of residual materials at source.

The new version of Gestrio should be launched in synchronicity with the publication of the 2025 collection schedules.

New image

In conjunction with the redesign of its website, the MRC d'Arthabaska has also been working on redefining its mission, vision and values, with the aim of modernizing its brand image.

We'll have to wait a little longer, however, as the official unveiling will take place at a later date.

No shelter in Saint-Valère

Endorsing the recommendation of the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the Planning Committee, the MRC Council did not authorize a by-law amendment that would have allowed the establishment of an animal shelter in Saint-Valère.

Among the reasons for the refusal were the fact that the chosen location was not conducive to cohabitation with surrounding uses, and the risks to the health of the livestock of nearby agricultural producers.

This was not a shelter for pets, but rather a refuge for injured wild animals, such as deer or marmots," said clerk Olivier Milot.
