From March 21 to March 24, 2024, the Bondoukou-based NGO La seconde chance (Second Chance) launched an awareness-raising campaign on school-age pregnancy in local schools, to instill in learners the behavior they need to counter this evil.

According to OBG president Djouo Kouassi Nina, the choice of public and private vocational and technical high schools, namely the Lycée Professionnel de Bondoukou and the Collège Privé Technique du Zanzan, is crucial to promoting the academic success of this segment of the population.

"It's essential for girls to be monitored, given the high number of pregnancies. They have the right to have dreams, the right not to have their dreams hindered," said Ms. Djouo at the Lycée Professionnel on March 21, 2024, denouncing the fact that one child gives birth to another.

According to her, a girl who succeeds in her studies contributes to a country's development. She is a source of happiness. "We're promoting contraceptives as a method of combating these pregnancies," she said.

The campaign, organized around the theme of "Mon avenir c'est moi" (My future is me), involves a dozen schools in the Gontougo region.
