Senegal

Thanks to the support of the NGO Mon-3, the communes of Mboumba and Méri (Podor department) have embarked on a collaborative process to implement their communal development plans in a transparent and sustainable manner.

This synergy promotes optimal governance and equitable local human development by acting on several levers. Halfway through the initiative, the results are satisfactory according to stakeholders who held an evaluation meeting on Thursday.

Training sessions have been organized for elected officials, local development agents, consultation frameworks and grassroots community organizations (CBOs) with the support of the Regional Development Agency (ARD) of Saint-Louis and the Education Inspectorate. In addition, funds from this inter-communality allow the two territorial entities to finance income-generating activities for the benefit of their communities.

Ultimately, a more efficient and participatory governance is expected. It will encourage improved resilience and access to quality and sustainable services and resources for the most vulnerable populations.
