For the first time, the Hanoi Youth Union is launching a youth volunteer project dedicated to promoting community health.

This year, as part of the project, 30 free medical consultation and drug distribution programs will be organized in various parts of the capital, benefiting some 10,000 Hanoians. Blood donation campaigns will also be carried out, with the aim of collecting 100,000 units of blood.

"Through this project, we wish to highlight the pioneering spirit, volunteerism and social responsibility of young people towards the community. In addition, this project aims to express our gratitude to previous generations as well as eminent figures from the Nation and the capital"said Nguyên Duc Tiên, permanent deputy secretary of the Hanoi branch of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

At the project launch ceremony, held in the Thanh Oai district on the outskirts of Hanoi, the Hanoi Youth Union and the Hanoi Young Doctors' Association signed a coordination agreement with the Long Châu pharmacy chain. The aim is to provide free medicines worth over 800 million dôngs to the people of Hanoi.

Following the launch of the project, the Hanoi Young Doctors' Association offered free consultations and medicines to 1,000 residents of Thanh Oai district.

"I came for a consultation. There are all kinds of consultations available. The doctors prescribed medicine. I'm very satisfied," says one man.

"I had ENT and heart tests. The doctor gave me tonics and gifts", says a little girl.

In May, free medical consultations will be organized in the districts of Mê Linh, Dông Anh and Dan Phuong, benefiting thousands of people.
