Canada/$100,000 for structuring projects in the MRC des Laurentides

Following the launch of the call for projects under component 2 - Support for local and regional development skills of the Fonds régions et ruralité, the MRC des Laurentides is announcing the awarding of grants totalling $100,000 to support 12 projects aimed at improving living environments on its territory.

This call for projects is the result of an agreement with the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation. Each year, the Conseil des maires de la MRC des Laurentides sets aside an amount so that organizations, municipalities, as well as private and social economy companies can receive financial support to carry out a project that meets the community's intervention priorities.

Projects submitted to this fund are intended to improve the quality of life of MRC des Laurentides residents, by contributing to the region's social health, economy and environment. This grant is intended for structuring projects or initiatives aimed at resolving local challenges.

In all, 21 projects were submitted by local organizations and municipalities, representing a total funding request of $308,343. In addition to the intervention priorities, projects also had to meet the principles of the Politique de soutien aux projets structurants pour améliorer les milieux de vie du territoire de la MRC des Laurentides.

Eligible projects

Of these 21 proposals, 12 eligible projects were recommended for funding by the Conseil des maires de la MRC Laurentides. These projects demonstrated their commitment to improving the standard of living of the population of the MRC des Laurentides.

- Municipality of Val-Morin: Parc Intergénérationnel - Parc Poupart Val-Morin ($5,000)
- La Récolte de la Rouge: Construction of a self-service kiosk at the Brébeuf farm ($12,000)
- Municipalité de Montcalm: Aire de rassemblement - Parc Lajeunesse Montcalm ($5,000)
- Calvaire d'Huberdeau: Restoration of signage and interpretation panels Huberdeau ($6,400)
- Nourri-Source Laurentides: Development of gallery space Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts ($3,000)
- Municipalité de Brébeuf: Improvements to Parc Arc-en-ciel Brébeuf ($5,000)
- Ferme aux Petits Oignons Coop de solidarité: Development of the community component of the Ferme de Mont-Tremblant ($10,000)
- Violon et Champignon: Agrotourism demonstration platform in Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides ($10,000)
- Ville de Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts: Identification of efficient, connected and safe cycling routes within the urban perimeter and acquisition of bicycle racks ($5,000)
- Municipalité de Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides: Jardins comestibles pour tous Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides ($6,600)
- Festival de films d'auteur de Val-Morin: Festival de films d'auteur de Val-Morin Val-Morin ($10,000)
- Coop Alimentaire de Val-des-Lacs: Hiring staff to prepare ready-to-eat food, Val-des-Lacs ($12,000)
- Éco-Corridors Laurentiens: Characterize populations of Buckthorn in three Laurentian nature parks Val-David, Val-Morin & Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts ($10,000 )
