A recent conference in Ho Chi Minh City discussed the benefits that digital transformation and the adoption of innovative technological solutions bring to the textile-clothing industry.

The conference entitled "Vietnamese textile-clothing companies' superior choice for sustainable development" was held as part of the SaigonTex and SaigonFabric 2024 exhibition organized by the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), among others.

Nguyễn Thị Tuyết Mai, deputy secretary general and head of the VITAS representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, told the conference that the government had recently approved the SaigonTex and SaigonFabricrence that the government had recently approved a "strategy for the development of Vietnam's textile-clothing industry up to 2030 with vision up to 2035".

Its objectives include improving the production of high-quality articles, strengthening competitiveness on the international market and satisfying domestic demand, she explained.

VITAS representatives said that one of the major solutions is the digital transformation of the entire textile industry.

This requires companies to strategically reorient their activities and innovate with technology if they are to guarantee their competitiveness and sustainability, they said.

Trần Thị Hà, CEO of Pro-sports Trading Company, said that although his company used various software and digital transformation solutions, it failed to fully meet customers' requirements, particularly in terms of transparency and integration with customers' software systems.

In addition, the company's management requires strategic decisions based on synchronized data sources rather than waiting for the aggregation of multiple sources, she said.

Nguyễn Thị Hồng Phương, deputy managing director of Phong Phú International Joint Stock Company, said that as her company expands and aims to become a leader in the field of software systems, it needs to be able to make strategic decisions based on synchronized data sources rather than waiting for the aggregation of multiple sources, she said. As her company grows and aims for sustainable development, it needs to standardize its management and production operations on the basis of synchronized data.

When deploying digital transformation measures, the company could easily manage the flow of goods from the import of raw materials to the sale of finished products, she said.

The company has successfully completed its digital transformation in the textile sector and plans to continue it in other areas such as yarn, dyeing and fabric, she added.

Jatin Paul, CEO of WFX, said textile companies use a variety of stand-alone software and therefore lack cohesion. But WFX's solution offers complete integration and could fit in with existing software, he said.

WFX is an international company operating in over 50 countries and territories, providing integrated software solutions for the textile industry.
