The sixth edition of the International Geomatics Exhibition will be held from April 27 to 28, 2023 in Abidjan, announces the National Committee of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CNTIG).

It is an event that brings together every 2 years in Abidjan, geoinformation professionals, public authorities, the private sector, researchers and the general public, around current issues that promote enriching and useful exchanges for development.Researchers and the general public, around current topics promoting enriching and useful exchanges for development.

The objectives of the exhibition

"Geointelligence and Territorial Governance: What contribution of Geoinformation solutions to the Management of African Municipalities for a Sustainable Development? "is the theme chosen for this edition. Through which participants will exchange their experiences on the contributions of geospatial technologies in the sustainable development and the increase of clean resources of African cities.

The main objective of this exhibition is to propose, on the one hand, strategies and operational solutions for the increase of resources and sustainable development of African municipalities and provinces. And on the other hand, to raise awareness among development actors on the use of geoinformation tools for the increase of local government resources.

"These events, open to professionals and the public, will contribute to the promotion and popularization of innovation and networking.

To this end, it will be an opportunity for national and international structures to propose geospatial solutions to decentralized entities that allow the exchange and sharing of data relatedes among others to the planning and development of the territory, the interconnectivity of intelligent devices for better management of cities, modeling of climate change, weather monitoring...

Various forums and conferences will be on the program of the International Geomatics Exhibition 2023. These events, open to professionals and the public, will contribute to the promotion and popularization of innovation and networking. These activities will take place in plenary sessions and parallel sessions, concomitantly with the exhibition.

Note that by 2050, about 60% of the African population will live in cities. Between 2020 and 2050, African cities, and especially intermediate cities, will integrate more than 700 million additional inhabitants.
