Morocco/Casablanca-Settat: First regional forum on the education and training system
The Casablanca-Settat Regional Academy for Education and Training (AREF) organized its first regional forum on the education and training system in Casablanca on Wednesday, under the theme "Casablanca-Settat Region: locomotive of the new Moroccan school, assessment of results and prospective post-2026 challenges". This regional forum is part of the ongoing implementation of the education system reform projects and the provisions of framework law 51.17 on the education, training and scientific research system.
The meeting also comes at a pivotal time, as implementation of the Roadmap 2022-2026 nears completion.and to reflect on the prospects for the next phase, particularly in the light of the report "The New School" published by the Conseil Supérieur de l'Éducation, de la Formation et de la Recherche Scientifique (CSEFRS).
In particular, the forum aims to develop a participatory post-2026 regional vision, based on an assessment of achievements and constraints, while strengthening the school's openness to its economic, social and cultural environment.
It also aims to promote the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence into the education system, and to consolidate governance mechanisms and school autonomy.
In a statement to the press, Mohamed Dib, Director of AREF Casablanca-Settat, said the forum was "a decisive step" in the process of territorializing educational reform at regional level.
He emphasized that the meeting was intended as a concrete response to the challenges of implementing the framework law and the reform roadmap.The aim is to make public schools capable of meeting the expectations of families and preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century.
