Oujda - The National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), with its various programs, plays a major role in supporting the health sector in the Oujda-Angad prefecture, particularly when it comes to helping people suffering from addiction.

The Oujda Center for the care of young people suffering from addictive behaviour is one of the key health and social projects in which the National Initiative is working to provide support and assistance to those who benefit from its services. those who benefit from its services, through the Association Nationale de Réduction des Risques des Drogues -section Oujda, responsible for providing support and raising awareness among patients and their families.

The Center welcomes young people of different ages suffering from dependence on multiple types of drugs, where they are subjected to follow-up and psychological support, in addition to medical treatment and the practice of recreational and sporting activities to improve their health.

In a statement to MAP, Souad Bouih, President of the Association Nationale de Réduction des Risques des Drogues -section Oujda, expressed the support by the INDH to the Center, noting that it benefited in particular from a bus and paramedical equipment, as well as wheelchairs.

Inaugurated by HM King Mohammed VI in June 2011, the center is made up of two poles, the first of which is medical and offers free diagnostic services to beneficiaries suffering from addiction. The second is associative and is based on the organization of psychological and social support activities such as music, sport and entertainment, preliminary prevention, as well as awareness-raising with the aim of reducing the risks of addiction, she recalled.

For his part, Anas Salih, Head of the Social Action Division at the Oujda-Angad Prefecture, highlighted the support provided by the INDH to the health sector as part of its various programmes, notably in the field of health care.rents, notably in the field of maternal and child health and support for vulnerable groups, in addition to the acquisition of medical and paramedical equipment.

He noted that between 2017 and 2023, some 50,335 people benefited from health projects at a budget cost of over DH6.455 million, of which DH6.288 million was a contribution from INDH.

As part of the program to make up for shortfalls in basic social services and infrastructure in the Oujda-Angad prefecture, INDH has acquired a range of medical and paramedical equipment for the Oujda-Angad prefecture.medical and para-medical equipment for the territorial communes, a transport bus and a mobile medical unit, as well as medical campaigns.

He emphasized that under the "Impulsion du capital humain des générations montantes" program, seven projects have been completed at a cost ofs at a cost of 1.4 million DH, involving the organization of medical campaigns and the acquisition of medical and paramedical equipment for mothers and children.and paramedical equipment for mothers and children, with a particular focus on supporting people who have been victims of addiction since 2005, through theacquisition of medical and paramedical equipment for the center, as well as a bus to transport the beneficiaries of its services.
