Canada/CFDC injected $1.3 million in the Basques last year

The Board of Directors of the SADC des Basques presented the results of the fiscal year ending March 31 at its annual general meeting held on Wednesday, June 22.

Having remained very active during this post-pandemic recovery period, the SADC des Basques made investments totalling nearly $1.3 million to organizations and businesses in 2021-2022. Loans disbursed under the two main financing components, the Regular Investment Fund and the Youth Strategy Fund, totalled more than $956,765.

Other available assistance programs include the FARR fund, initiated in 2020 to support businesses and organizations in times of crisis related to the COVID-9 pandemic, ended on September 30, 2021 with a contribution in the community of $52,000. The Structural Technical Assistance fund, created to support economic recovery, contributed $175,574 to 8 Basque businesses. Finally, a brand new program appeared at the end of the fiscal year, the Virage Vert Program, which allowed one business to benefit from $14,700 in financial assistance.

Local development

The SADC des Basques has not only invested financially in local development projects, but it has also acted as a key player in various projects such as Le Vent gourmant et les Espaces virevents, Trois-Pistoles, fêthe program to promote businesses and services, the Interactive Map project, the Employment Committee, Place aux jeunes ados and many others.

Four Directors Re-elected

Following the four seats elected this year, Nancy Dubé (economic sector), Line Caron (community sector), Mireille Dubé (youth sector) and Didier Rioux (education representative and secretary-treasurer) were re-elected. The board is completed by Jocelyne Rioux (economic development sector), Nancy Lafond (co-opted position), Jean-Marie Dugas (seniors sector and vice-president) and Dany Hudon (economic sector and president). Reeve Bertin Denis remains the delegate for the MRC des Basques.
