France/The Saint-Méen Sister City Committee is celebrating 30 years of friendship with the Vosges and is organizing a kig ha farz on Sunday, November 15
Saint-Méen is celebrating 30 years of its sister-city relationship with Thiéfosse (Vosges). This friendship between two French towns is maintained through annual exchanges and festive events, including a kig ha farz held on Sunday, November 15.
Since 1996, Saint-Méen has been twinned with Thiéfosse, in the Vosges. This friendship endures thanks to the exchanges organized each year during Ascension weekend. Residents of Saint-Méen and Thiéfosse spend three days together with their host families, alternating between Brittany and the Vosges. Chaired by Dominique Guyader, the committee maintains these precious ties. After celebrating the 30th anniversary of the twinning in Brittany last May, the Bretons will travel to Thiéfosse from May 6 to 8 to continue the festivities. To fund these exchanges, several events are organized each year: a giant raclette in January, a take-home roast pig in June, a yard sale in September, a general meeting in October, and a “kig ha farz” in November. The kig ha farz will take place on Sunday, November 15, starting at 12 p.m., at the Espace Jean-Yves-Salaün in Saint-Méen.
