France/Sister City: After being welcomed at Monteux City Hall, a Polish delegation will tour the region
The sister city relationship between Monteux and the Polish town of Niemcza began in 2009, and since then, the ties have continued to grow stronger. Recently, a delegation was welcomed at City Hall in the presence of several Monteux elected officials and leaders of the twinning committee, led by Chairwoman Chantal Olivi.
After welcoming them and greeting the first deputy mayor of Niemcza, Mayor Patrice de Camaret expressed his pleasure at welcoming, for the first time, representatives of a nation that has been a friend of France for several centuries. He went on to affirm that the contacts and activities related to the sister city partnership would be maintained and encouraged.
The first deputy mayor and then the president of the Polish committee thanked the elected officials and members of the twinning association for the warm welcome and presented them with several souvenirs from Poland.
Exploring Tourist Attractions
For a week, the delegation then toured the surrounding area, exploring tourist sites, including a boat ride on the Rhône, visits to a vineyard in Beaumes-de-Venise, the Cocalière Cave, a local market, and many others.
It’s worth noting that the delegation stayed with local families, which helped create and strengthen friendly ties.
