France/Argentré-du-Plessis. An evening to learn about the partnership with Reviga

France

For nearly twelve years, the Argentré–Romania Association has been participating in a sister-city program with Reviga (Romania). And this year is no exception. From August 26 to 31, 29 Romanians will be hosted by families who were themselves hosted in Reviga in August 2025.

Bringing Cultures Together

To mark the occasion, Philippe Garnier, the association’s new president, hopes to extend this friendly cultural exchange to other residents of Argentré.

We invite them to join us for the roast pork dinner on Friday, August 28, to get to know our Romanian friends better—who are known for their hospitality and love of celebration—as well as for the country day on August 30 at the Jardin du Hill, featuring a traditional Breton meal of galettes and sausages, games, and hikes.

The exchange will also branch out to include international work camps, which have brought together young people from Argentré and Romania on the same project.

This twinning initiative was the brainchild of the association’s former president, Bernard Veillard. It was important to me that our cultures blend together. I contacted the Romanians in our region to invite them to participate in our twinning events with Réviga. Some of them then joined in our Breton cultural activities, entertaining us with their music and dances. These exchanges are very important: getting to know each other better leads to better understanding.

Two highlights: Friday, August 28, at the Salle Ouessant, starting at 7:00 p.m. €15 per person. Sunday, August 30: Ecumenical celebration in Étrelles. Registration and information by email: argentreroumanie@orange.fr or by phone at 06 77 01 90 87.
