Chad: 50 Young Chadians Ready to Boost Tourism Through ONAPE
ONAPE has completed a training program for 50 young people in the tourism sector, enhancing their employability and opening up opportunities through partnerships with local hotels.
On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the National Office for the Promotion of Employment (ONAPE) officially concluded a training session focused on careers in the hospitality and tourism industries, benefiting 50 young people from various regions of Chad.
For three months, the trainees followed an intensive program combining technical instruction, hands-on training, and the development of professional skills. The goal was to enhance their employability in a rapidly expanding sector that offers numerous opportunities.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Konguila Mackaye, representing ONAPE’s Director General, praised the trainees’ dedication, diligence, and determination. She also emphasized that this initiative is fully aligned with the implementation of ONAPE’s 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, which is perfectly consistent with the National Development Plan “Chad Connexion 2030,” which identifies human capital as a fundamental pillar of the country’s economic growth and structural transformation.
This training program illustrates ONAPE’s ongoing commitment to aligning training offerings with the real needs of the market, while strengthening the links between apprenticeships and sustainable professional integration.
Already, more than 25 recruitment opportunities are being considered thanks to strategic partnerships forged with local hospitality organizations.
Through this initiative, ONAPE reaffirms its unwavering commitment to supporting Chad’s youth in securing decent, stable, and meaningful employment.
