The Transquadrasolo association organizes the legendary transatlantic sailing race for solo sailors and two-person crews, open only to skippers and crew members over the age of 40. The organization’s headquarters, previously based in Nantes, has just moved to La Turballe.

To formalize the decision made by the association’s board members, the port city—represented by its mayor and the council member responsible for maritime affairs—signed a partnership agreement last Friday, committing both parties to the event through the 2030 race.

The agreement reflects a commitment to developing competitive sailing. While the passion surrounding the sport emphasizes its competitive aspect, it also aligns with values expressed through respect for human commitment within its natural environment. While humans establish the rules of competition, it is Mother Nature who remains the master of the playing field.

After leaving unforgettable memories for the people of La Turballe during the 2024 edition, the next transatlantic race will set sail on July 4, 2027, from the port of La Turballe, heading for Madeira. The second leg of the journey will take place in February 2028, with a finish in the French West Indies.
