France/Near Falaise, this Franco-Belgian twinning organizes a belote competition
Mayor since the last municipal elections, Stéphane Boury is also president of the twinning association linking the towns of Clavier in Belgium and Saint-Pierre-Canivet.
Stéphane Boury , mayor of Saint-Pierre-Canivet (Calvados), near Falaise, since March 2026, is also president of the Franco-Belgian twinning association.
He asked himself how he could mobilize as many people as possible around an event. Very involved in the commune, Stéphane Boury recalled an event that attracted quite a few players.
Decades ago, belote enthusiasts used to come here to play.

"I thought I'd go back a few years to mobilize the players". Bearing in mind those wonderful evenings, the president decided to "relaunch this not-to-be-missed event".
One prize per player
Together with the members of the Franco-Belgian twinning association, the chairman has set the date for Saturday April 25 at 2pm in the village hall.
The first three teams will each win a prize. "We're giving away a hamper and a prize for each player". The entry fee is €10 per player.
This return to the past is sure to please all card game enthusiasts.
