France/ Mirecourt: the Bonn-Beuel twinning committee launches its programme of festivities
The Bonn-Beuel twinning committee is off to a flying start with the announcement of a rich program of cultural projects and events. This momentum comes against the backdrop of the recent elections for new German and French mayors, which are essential to the smooth running of the twinning scheme.
The co-presidents of the Bonn-Beuel twinning committee, Maria Mulot and Silvia Ropa, were awaiting the results of the municipal elections held in recent weeks in France and Germany before drawing up the new program of festivities.
Meeting recently at the town hall, in the presence of newly-elected mayor Nathalie Babouhot, the members of the twinning committee also welcomed the municipal delegation.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to put to rest the rumour that I'm leaving the association because I'm moving. In reality, I'm keeping my house in Mattaincourt and there's no question of me leaving for the time being", Maria Mulot pointed out, to put an end to any speculation. A quick look at the association's accounts, presented by treasurer Claude Fondeur, showed a healthy situation.
