Moldova/Competition: "Moldovan heritage is close to my heart!"
The French Embassy and the National Office of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) in the Republic of Moldova are organizing a national competition to promote the tangible and intangible heritage of Moldova, as part of the Month of the Francophonie (March 2026).
The aim of this initiative is to promote Moldavian heritage and raise public awareness of its value through artistic or media creations in the following categories:
- Crafts (tapestry, embroidery, sewing, stone and wood carving, etc.)
- Folklore (traditional songs or instruments, colinde, doine, ballads, accounts...)
- Architecture (sites and buildings whose architecture represents a cultural and historical value)
- Gastronomy (traditions, food cultures, culinary arts).
Competition rules
Theme : "Moldovan heritage is close to my heart".
Eligible participants: young French-speaking and/or Francophile Moldovans (aged 15 to 25)
Language of submission: French
Conditions of entry: Each participant may submit a single work that :
- is original and unpublished ;
- has not won an award in another competition;
- respects the proposed theme
- includes a message raising awareness of the heritage value of the subject/object presented.
Accepted production types and formats:
- Poster: digital format (JPEG, PNG or PDF)
- Photo: digital format (JPEG or PNG)
- Drawings: digital format (JPEG, PNG or PDF)
- Video or sound recordings, length 3 minutes maximum (Romanian video and sound recordings must have French subtitles).
Deadline: March 16, 2026! Entries received after this date will not be considered.
Submission of contributions: productions must be sent to bn-moldova@auf.org
The message sending the entries must include the following information:
- Last name, first name and age of the contestant
- School of origin
- Location
- Title and category (crafts, folklore, architecture, gastronomy) of the entry.
Evaluation criteria: entries will be judged by a panel of judges, who will assess the relevance of the message, originality and creativity, aesthetic value, adherence to the competition theme, and quality of French. The jury's decision is final and cannot be contested.
Announcement of results: end of March 2026, at an official awards ceremony.
Awards and recognition :
- Prize I - 3000 MDL (5 winners)
- Prize II - 2000 MDL (10 participants awarded)
- Prize III - 1000 MDL (15 prizewinners)
With the agreement of the authors, certain productions selected by the jury may be widely distributed on the Embassy's and AUF's social networks.
Copyright: Participants retain their copyright. However, by taking part in the competition, they authorize the organizers to use their works free of charge (with mention of the author's name) for communication, awareness-raising and promotional purposes.
