The Longueville-sur-Scie/Newton Longville twinning association took advantage of its general meeting to launch a recruitment campaign: it is looking for new families.

The twinning association between Longueville-sur-Scie near Dieppe (Seine-Maritime) and Newton Longville held its annual general meeting in the Salle des Associations in Longueville-sur-Scie. Around 14 families attended the annual meeting, which was also attended by the mayor, Olivier Bureaux.

The president opened the meeting with a word of welcome, followed by the moral report presented by the secretary and the financial report presented by the treasurer.

The accounts were approved by the assembly, before an update on the composition of the board and future prospects. The meeting concluded with the traditional "pot de l'amitié", a convivial moment appreciated by all present.

Since the 80s

The twinning between the two towns dates back to the late 1980s. On the initiative of two sisters, one of whom lived in Newton Longville, England, and the other working at the Rouen prefecture, the first exchanges took place with the support of the mayor at the time, Dr Delcourt.

The twinning was officially signed in 1989.

Long presided over by Nelly Le Pallec, now honorary president, it is based on the desire to encourage educational, cultural, sporting and social exchanges, and to bring the inhabitants of both sides of the Channel closer together in the long term.
