Croatia/The conceptuality of the human in the face of technology: colloquium 2026 in Zagreb
The fifth edition of the International Francophone Colloquium of the University of Zagreb will take place from November 26 to 28, 2026 at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, and will be devoted to the theme "The conceptuality of the human in the face of technology".
The event aims to bring together researchers interested in issues concerning the links between human beings and technology, from a theoretical and/or practical point of view, in the fields of language science, FLE didactics, translation activity and literary studies.human and technology from a theoretical and/or practical perspective, in the fields of language science, FLE didactics, translation and literary studies. By reconciling tradition and modernity, the colloquium will pay tribute to academician Petar Skok (1881-1956), a great Romanist and founder of the Department of Romance Studies in Zagreb, who died in 1956, and whose scientific and institutional commitment remains an essential milestone in the philological tradition.
The Colloquium is intended as a forum for interdisciplinary dialogue, where researchers, teachers, translators, authors and writers are invited to explore the philological challenges of human conceptuality in the face of technology.

- The Colloquium will close with a tribute to academician Petar Skok.
Proposals for papers (surname, first name, affiliation, e-mail address, title, abstract of 300 words maximum, 4-5 keywords, 4-5 bibliographical references, short biography) should be sent before April 30, 2026 to the following address francontraste@m.ffzg.hr or in the form of an electronic form available on the Colloquium website: https://francontraste.ffzg.unizg.hr/ The name and title of the paper should appear in the e-mail: however, the proposal will be anonymized.

Online registration for the Colloquium: June 15 to September 30, 2026
Early registration fee up to July 15, 2026: 120EUR; students 80EUR
Fees from July 16 to September 30, 2026: 150EUR; students 100EUR
Bank transfer fees are not included. The fee includes one publication - collection of abstracts, refreshments during breaks, certificate of attendance. Accommodation and transport costs are not included.
Deadline for payment of fees: September 30, 2026.
Publication of proceedings: Papers will be peer-reviewed for publication. Contributions will be published in a collective work.
Deadline for submission of papers for publication: April 30, 2027 and return of revised papers: September 15, 2027.
