Over the years, the ties between Decazevillois and Coazzesi have remained strong.

Every year, the third weekend in October sees the return of the "Festa Rurale" on the other side of the Alps. In Coazze, it's the end of the goats' vacation on the mountain pastures. They pass through the town in the late afternoon of Sunday, adorned with their rosettes and bells. The horned beasts parade down the main street, where visitors to the fair's stalls have been waiting since morning.

For a good kilometer, exhibitors offer crafts, charcuterie, mushrooms, chestnuts and, of course, Cevrin, their traditional cheese. It's a day of meetings, exchanges and festivities.

The Coazze-Decazeville twinning association is also present. "We offer a few local products and, above all, a meeting place. Many people stop when they see us. The border isn't that far. A few words of French and a few words of Italian are enough to establish contact. They look at the map, perhaps reminiscing about their vacations. We invite them to weigh the basket in the hope of winning it", report the members of the Decazeville twinning committee present in Italy. Of course, their stay was not limited to the Festa Rurale. They were invited to taste local specialities in each other's homes. The Decazevillois had the privilege of visiting the future Sant'Ambrogio Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, dedicated to the sculptor Mario Giansone.

Conference with Philippe Foro on Friday

The life of the Italian twinning committee continues in Decazeville. Historian Philippe Foro will hold a conference on Aldo Moro, on Friday November 14, at 8:30 pm, at the Laminoir. The speaker will talk about his latest book, dedicated to Aldo Moro. Free, open to all. Twinning is a meeting place for cultures. Come and experience a moment of Italian history.

Then there's the Christmas market in Decazeville, "where our Italian friends from Coazze will be offering a few local products, and will be delighted to be with us".
