Chad: young people at the heart of the debate on digital security and data protection
To mark World Encryption Day 2025, the House of Africa association organized a conference-debate at the Sabangali Sub Management Institute on October 21, on the theme of "Youth in Chad and digital security".
The aim was to raise young people's awareness of responsible use of social networks, and protection of personal data in a context of rapid digital transformation.
House of Africa's Secretary General, Youssouf Allafoula Mahamat, reminded participants that cyber-security is no longer just a matter for technicians, but a question of digital citizenship and collective responsibility. According to him, this initiative is part of the organization's commitment to building a secure, sovereign and ethical Chadian digital ecosystem. "We will no longer be passive consumers of imported technologies, but creators of a secure and responsible African Internet", he declared.
For his part, ANSICE Managing Director Hassan Bolobo Maïdé, a long-standing partner of House of Africa, stressed the importance of educating and raising awareness among young people about online caution, particularly in schools.
He reaffirmed his institution's commitment to: strengthening national cyberspace against digital threats; promoting a culture of personal data protection; building a digital environment based on trust. This meeting is part of the month of October dedicated to cyber-security, an opportunity to raise public awareness of the issues surrounding data protection and security on the Internet.
