Vietnam/Près de 2200 élèves vietnamiens lauréats des bourses d'excellence Vallet 2025
On the occasion of the 26ᵉ anniversary of the Vallet scholarship, celebrated on September 6, around 700 deserving pupils and students from northern Vietnam gathered for the Vallet 2025 scholarship award ceremony in Hanoi. AUF - Asia-Pacific is honored to have been invited to this memorable event and to have had the opportunity to present scholarships to the students.
The Vallet Scholarships are annual scholarships offered by the Vallet Foundation, founded by Professor Odon Vallet in partnership with the Association "Rencontres du Vietnam", to support talented and brilliant pupils and students in their studies and research. The aim of these scholarships is to help them develop their potential and contribute to the community in the future, with selection based on criteria such as academic results, scientific research activities and awards obtained.
Among those attending the ceremony were:
- Prof. Tran Thanh Van, President of the "Rencontres du Vietnam" Association
- Prof. Le Kim Ngoc, President of the Association d'Aide aux Enfants Vietnamiens en France
- Dr. Esperan Padonou, Director of the Vallet Scholarship Fund
- Mr. Olivier Brochet, French Ambassador to Vietnam
- Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, President of the State Committee for Vietnamese Residents Abroad, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Dr. Tran Duc Tuan, Representative of the Office of the President of the Republic
- Prof. Nicolas Mainetti, AUF Regional Director - Asia-Pacific,
as well as representatives from the Institut de Recherche pour le Developpement (IRD), Vietnam National University - Hanoi, Fulbright University Vietnam, etc.
The Vallet scholarships are the largest non-governmental scholarship fund to have been operating continuously in Vietnam since 2001. In 2025, nearly 2,200 scholarships were awarded to talented pupils and students throughout the country:
- Total number of scholarship winners 2025: 2150
- Number of scholarship winners in North Vietnam: 673, including 507 high school students and 166 university and doctoral students.
To date, more than 55,000 scholarships, worth over 500 billion dôngs (equivalent to around 18 million euros), have been awarded to pupils and students in Vietnam.
