The Association des Jeunes Élèves et Étudiants Pévé (AJEEP) officially launched the 4th edition of its cultural week on Saturday, at the Lycée de Walia in N'Djamena. The opening ceremony was presided over by the chief of the Zimé-Pévé community, Mr. Keda Michel.

In his speech, the president of the organizing committee, Mr. Dikri-I Jérémie, recalled that since its creation, the AJEEP has been a genuine space for the development of Pévé youth. He emphasized that the association enables young people to express themselves freely, to make their voices heard and to defend the causes that are close to their hearts.

"This cultural week aims to highlight the importance of passing on the knowledge, customs and traditions of our community. Over the course of the two days, we'll be treated to a wide range of activities: theatrical performances, traditional dances, debates and exhibitions. Beyond the entertainment, these moments are opportunities to reflect on our role in the social, economic and cultural development of our society", he declared.

Community cohesion and solidarity

Taking his turn to speak, the President of AJEEP, Mr. Koye Jean, praised the commitment of young people and the importance of this event for community cohesion. He called on all members, especially pupils and students, to show solidarity.

"This week is a great opportunity to strengthen the intermingling of young people, exchange views on our academic careers and share experiences. I urge my brothers and sisters to work hand in hand for the development of our community and the building of our country", he said.

A call for intergenerational support

Closing the opening ceremony, the head of the Zimé-Pévé community, Mr. Keda Michel, welcomed the AJEEP initiative and encouraged the elders to support the next generation. He stressed the importance of intergenerational transmission and solidarity between members to ensure the continuity of the association's actions.

AJEEP's cultural week promises to be a high point for reunions, the promotion of Pévé culture and the mobilization of young people around development issues.
