In Togo, the Tchamba 1 commune, located in the central region, now has a practical guide to restoring its forest landscape. The document was validated on Tuesday June 3, 2025 in Tchamba, in the presence of several local players.

The manual provides information on the environmental characteristics of the commune and proposes concrete restoration options, based on an analysis of local capacities for protecting natural resources. The document also defines implementation mechanisms and strategies for mobilizing the necessary resources.

The guide, considered as an operational tool, is intended to guide communal authorities in the planning and execution of restoration actions. It also constitutes a methodological and technical basis that can be replicated in other communes or used by technical partners, development organizations and decision-makers involved in forest landscape restoration initiatives.

It was developed as part of the second phase of the Forest4Future (F4F) project, co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and implemented by GIZ. It is aligned with the government's 2020-2025 roadmap and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular axes 13 and 14 on combating climate change and preserving ecosystems.
