Visitors flock to the Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival 2025, held at Tao Dàn Park in the 1st district, to admire and take photos of the magnificent colorful orchids.
Vo Van Hoan, vice-chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said at the opening ceremony on Saturday that the festival was being held for the third time as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.third time as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of national reunification and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
The festival features orchids and other ornamental flowers from Ho Chi Minh City and other localities. It is also a tourist attraction exploiting the city's agricultural development and promoting trade in these products.
Until May 20, visitors will be able to admire magnificent floral decorations and attractive backdrops, perfect for photos, including a remarkable area inspired by the Thông Nhât (Reunification) trains linking Hô Chi Minh-Ville to Hanoi.
More than 200 floral cooperatives, gardens and artisans are exhibiting their work, totalling over 39,000 orchid-based products.
The organizer also held a prize-giving ceremony for a national orchid competition, in which some 100 gardens from Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Lak, Dông Thap, Bên Tre and other cities took part.
The 70 prize-winning orchid pots are on display. The festival will also include areas to promote tourism, regional gastronomy and concerts.
