On Thursday May 15, 2025, the Union des chambres régionales de métiers (UCRM) and the Confédération des juniors entreprises du Togo (CJET) signed a partnership agreement in Lomé, aimed primarily at supporting young entrepreneurs in the craft sector in structuring and formalizing their activities.

In concrete terms, the two organizations are committed to pooling their expertise to strengthen the management skills of young craftspeople, facilitate their access to financing and improve their visibility on public and private markets. This partnership is a concrete response to the structuring needs of young craft businesses ", emphasizes Médissa Sama, President of CJET, who notes that it represents a lever to help artisans to "make a living from their trade" and to "take advantage of the opportunities available to them". "They will also be able to align themselves with regional and international standards, and develop smooth relations with the authorities, tax authorities and social security authorities.

For UCRM President Issa Mouhamed, the agreement is " more than a partnership, it's a commitment ". " Our craftsmen are talented. This agreement gives us the means to support them towards real economic recognition ", he declared.

The five-year renewable agreement aims to create a more favorable environment for the development of Togolese artisans.

A few weeks ago, CJET entered into a similar partnership with the Togo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-Togo), with the same objectives of supporting youth entrepreneurship.
