Belgium

At the end of 2023, the Centre d'Action Laïque (CAL) printed a dystopian newspaper warning of the dangers of political extremism.

Fictitious and cartoonish, the articles were nonetheless inspired by concepts in use around the world. This mock newspaper has served, and continues to serve, as the basis for a number of continuing education activities. A year later, CAL reissued its awareness-raising tool, along with a complementary leaflet. A number of fictitious stories written just 18 months ago are now taking shape on the other side of the Atlantic. Using the United States as an example, the Centre d'Action Laïque reminds us that vigilance is essential. The fake newspaper "Vraiment!" will be distributed in various places in Brussels and Wallonia on May 16. At the Ottignies market, for example. Interview with Brice Droumart, director of Laïcité Brabant wallon.
