Morocco/Casablanca hosts the grand inter-regional final of the 4ᵉ edition of the MIME "Mon Idée Mon Entreprise" competition.
The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) - North Africa, in partnership with Hassan II University in Casablanca, is organizing the inter-regional final of the 4ᵉ edition of the "Mon Idée, Mon Entreprise" (MIME) competition, a pan-African event dedicated to innovation and youth entrepreneurship, from May 28 to 30, 2025.
Supported by the AUF's regional offices in North Africa, West Africa, Central Africa and the Great Lakes, as well as in Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean, this competition aims to identify and support high-impact entrepreneurial projects led by the continent's young talent.
A competition under the banner of artificial intelligence and sustainable development
The theme of the 2025 edition is: "Meeting the challenges of sustainable development through the use of artificial intelligence tools". A theme that reflects the AUF's desire to put new technologies at the service of inclusive and sustainable growth in Africa.
Of the 854 applications received, 23 young finalists - students and doctoral candidates representing 23 African countries - were selected to defend their ideas for projects with high transformative potential: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, DRC, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia.
Coaching, pitches and prize-giving
On May 28 and 29, the finalists will benefit from an intensive coaching program, led by Mr. Jalal Bricha, entrepreneur and Tech & AI expert, and Ms. Sanaa Maaroufi, professional coach, to prepare them for the presentation of their projects.
On May 30, the final will be held at the Faculty of Medicine, Hassan 2 University, Casablanca, before an inter-regional jury. At the end of the presentations, five awards will be presented:
- Three prizes for the best project ideas, accompanied by a financial award;
- The "Jury's Favourite" prize;
- The "People's Choice" prize, awarded via a participatory online vote.
A competition to help young people become agents of change
Beyond the competition itself, the MIME competition aims to :
- Promote entrepreneurial culture within African universities;
- Encourage young people to transform their ideas into sustainable businesses;
- Build bridges between the academic world and innovation ecosystems;
- Strengthen inter-university cooperation on sustainable development issues.
With this initiative, the AUF reaffirms its commitment to mobilizing African youth around innovative solutions, by placing entrepreneurship at the heart of the continent's development.
