Benin/Teacher capacity building and video design: an innovative workshop produces 100 educational video capsules in Benin
The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), with the support of the European Union, the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), is proud to announce the success of its recent training workshop for the design of educational video capsules.
This workshop, which took place from September 02 to 06, 2024 in Lokossa, brought together 65 teachers from the National University of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The main objective was to strengthen participants' technical skills in the creation of innovative digital educational content, and to produce 65 educational video capsules.
During this intensive training course, teachers acquired advanced skills in the design, production and editing of educational video capsules. In all, 100 video vignettes were produced. These capsules will be integrated into the dedicated PEUPL platform, enabling them to be extracted, implemented and indexed for optimal access by students.
This initiative aims to enhance distance teaching and e-learning by providing high-quality teaching resources accessible to a wide audience of learners. The video capsules will enable teachers to deliver content in an interactive and engaging way, while enriching students' educational experiences.
The event's partners emphasize the importance of pedagogical innovation in Benin's current educational context. "This collaboration between AUF, the European Union, IRD and AFD demonstrates our shared commitment to supporting the evolution of educational practices and promoting innovative teaching solutions.ductive practices and promote effective digital solutions", said Mr Modou DIOUF, Senior Project Manager at AUF.
The workshop also fostered the exchange of best practices and the development of professional networks between participants, thereby strengthening the French-speaking educational community. It is one of the latest activities organized as part of the Africa Digital Campus project, a component of the DIRECCT program.
