France

Renewed in 2023, this itinerant spring ritual celebrates its 15th edition by heading for Saint-Pabu, Bourg-Blanc and Loc-Brévalaire. It kicks off with a bang on May 26.

Patrice Boucher, vice-president of the Communauté de communes du Pays des Abers, supports the Printemps des Abers project with conviction, alongside Le Fourneau. This partnership represents a multitude of spaces for artists to express themselves," says Caroline Raffin, director of the Centre national des arts de la rue in Brest. The challenge is to bring about circulation on the scale of this vast territory, so the word "community" rings true here, to ensure that the three programmed events are a success.

A fine artistic program

Sunday May 26, departure from the Porz-ar-Vilin cove in Saint-Pabu, for a musical stroll with Jahiner, a quirky brass band. A mix of humor and a repertoire that blends rock, folklore and variety. Then there's Caillasse, by the Le Guichet company, a wonderful creation combining circus, gestural and acrobatic theater, and a tribute to all the world's rebels, in the sense of commitment," continues Caroline Raffin.

On Saturday June1st, the evening event will take place in Bourg-Blanc. The artistic program is pretty strong," enthuses the director. Four companies will make up the evening, which will feature circus and clown performances with plenty of humor and emotion. Frutillas Con Crema, a Chilean clown, opens the festivities with his creation, Petit. In a completely different vein, chatty clown Pétrole presents À l'Ouest, a western for a clandestine clown. A committed and unifying creation, accompanied by Le Fourneau, in 2022. I have a weakness for this kind of street theater humor," admits Caroline Raffin, introducing the Belgian company Les vrais majors and their creation La Montagne, which will be performed at 8:12pm. It's the story of a quest, that of a team who set themselves the challenge of adapting a German film from the 1930s about a high mountain expedition. They've never been to Brittany before.

Last but not least, Les trois points de suspension. I've been following them for over twenty years", she says, not hiding her admiration for these artists. Hiboux approaches the end of life in the form of a singular, theatrical collective ceremony that's definitely offbeat.

Sunday, June 9, Loc-Brévalaire, 11:01 a.m., Church parking lot, Jours, an offbeat theatrical experience.for ages 8 and up; at 2:32 p.m., in the Salle polyvalente parking lot, Instable , a circus show for ages 8 and up. Finally, at 4:16 p.m., in the garden of the former presbytery, Frigo, a poetically incorrect clown show for all audiences.
