France/ Landunvez. Bradninch-Landunvez, a twinning with a family spirit
Around 140 people turned out for the traditional Full English Breakfast on February 11 at Le Triskell.
The Bradninch-Landunvez Twinning Association (AJBL) didn't expect the event to be such a success, as president Brigitte Le Guen confirms: "The two surprises were incredible! Firstly, we didn't expect to top last year's number of guests. Then, when Phil and Pam arrived at the hall, I wasn't expecting them. I had tears in my eyes. They had left Bradninch the day before. They had kept their visit a secret and arrived for breakfast. What a thrill!
The menu included baked beans, black pudding, scones, sausages and bacon...
The twinning committee has developed a family spirit over the years. " The families are in contact all the time. We hear from each other. Recently, some of us have had health problems, and the Bradninch families have been very supportive. A great comfort. This year, for Pentecost, people from Landunvez will be going to Bradninch, and we'll be staying with local people.
The association is organizing an Easter egg hunt on Monday April1, at the Kersaint-Plabennec soccer field. The money raised will be used to finance the English families' stay in Landunvez next year.
