The municipality of Latulipe-et-Gaboury is boosting nature and adventure tourism with the inauguration of phase two of the Pointe-aux-Roches project on Saturday.

The site is located to the north of the municipality, on the shores of Lac des Quinze.

There are several kilometers of hiking trails, and mountain biking is also possible.

We've improved the offer, we've really improved the park in an extraordinary way. We probably have the most beautiful municipal trails in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, without a doubt," says mayor Vincent Gingras without hesitation.

The site has three wilderness camping sites," explains Mayor Vincent Gingras.

Users will also be able to enjoy a dock and three observation platforms on natural lookouts.

The parking area has also been enlarged by improving the road leading to the municipality of Moffet.

It's a central tourist attraction for Latulipe. People come from all over because we get the word out that we exist. Of course, we still have a lot of work to do, but the more the years go by, the more traffic we get, the more people come and leave us positive, incredible comments every time," adds the mayor, who mentions in passing that the municipality is motivated to further improve the site.

The project, which cost close to $100,000, was made possible thanks to financial support from Quebec City.

The municipality of Latulipe-et-Gaboury hopes to become a hub for nature and adventure tourism in eastern Témiscamingue. We're really hoping to attract people who like adventure tourism," insists Vincent Gingras, "and we also want to attract boaters who come to dock at the wharf, take a walk and then return to their boats.

In addition, traditional Quebec dance and music will be featured Saturday evening at the community center as part of the Journées de la Culture 2023, with the presence of artist Martin Langlais.
