Simone Loubienga, administrator-mayor of Brazzaville's second arrondissement, Bacongo, launched the sanitation and disinfection operation at the Nkeoua Joseph school on September 28.

Carried out in the company of neighborhood leaders, the Congolese Red Cross and a number of associations based in the second arrondissement, as well as a company specializing in disinfection, the sanitation operation will extend to Bacongo's 27 general and technical schools.cialized in disinfection, the sanitation operation will cover the 27 general and technical schools in Bacongo. Fifteen schools will be disinfected. " This operation will continue in other schools, as the Red Cross team and the company responsible for disinfection visit the various schools," explained Simone Loubienga.

Through this action, the mayor of Bacongo would like to encourage teachers and pupils to keep sanitary blocks and classrooms clean, because cleanliness drives away disease. "Some time ago, epidemics of dirty hands took their toll on the health of the population in Dolisie. We want teachers to get to grips with the problem of hygiene by passing on the message to pupils", urged Dr. Simone Loubienga.

The operation was welcomed by the management of the Nkeoua-Joseph primary school, which also houses the CEG Pierre-Savorgnan-de-Brazza. "We're delighted with this support from the mayor of Bacongo. The ministerial calendar has set aside a day for sanitation, and the administrator-mayor has just followed suit, which is a source of pride for us. The difficulty we face is the lack of water, but we've made every effort to maintain the classrooms. We welcome the operation to disinfect the latrines," declared Wave B Director Guy Bonazébi.

He also reassured the municipal authorities that the new school year would start on October 2 in the Nkeoua Joseph and CEG Pierre-Savorgnan schools.
