In Togo, the commune of Doufelgou 3, located south-west of the town of Niamtougou in the north of the country, last week validated its Communal Development Plan (PDC), with a budget estimated at over one billion CFA francs, over a 5-year period from 2023 to 2028.

The 183-page document was validated at a meeting held on Friday June 2 in Alloum, the commune's capital. It includes 7 major programs, 18 projects and 122 activities, representing a total budget of around 1,139,000,000 CFA francs, according to ATOP.

The validation of the PDC brought together all the players involved, including the municipal council, heads of decentralized government departments, NGO managers, the traditional chieftaincy and community leaders.

At the meeting, Hassim Maliawaï, Regional Planning Director for the Kara region, reminded participants of the obligation of local authorities to plan their development, in accordance with the country's current decentralization law.

For her part, the mayor of the Doufelgou 3 commune, Abla Yassim, welcomed the adoption of the document, stressing its importance in terms of strategic planning for her commune.
