The government official, who was participating in a virtual workshop on the role of software testing in the Nigerian economy, said that certifying more software professionals has become imperative with the increasing integration of digital technology in the country. He said that certifying more software professionals has become imperative with the increasing integration of software in all spheres of human life and the need for a secure system. " This will eliminate the fact that the market is loaded with software with many vulnerabilities, " he said.

The training will be implemented by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and will target both professionals and people without experience.

At the same event, the minister appealed to digital actors to support this cause.

"We want to see how we can allow some of you to provide these services. This means that if I develop software, I have to consult a certified tester to make sure I meet the standard quality assurance, all the basic bugs and vulnerability assessment before I can sell that software," he said.
