The Vietnamese ambassador to Venezuela, Le Viet Duyen, has just made a working visit to Monagas to promote cooperation in the economy, trade, investment and other potential cooperation initiatives between the two countries.

Receiving the Vietnamese ambassador, the governor of Monagas State, Ernesto Luna, informed him of the local socio-economic situation, highlighting its potential in oil and gas, tourism and agriculture.

The State of Monagas will create working groups that will be in charge of contact with the Embassy of Viet Nam to promote links between Vietnamese and Venezuelan businesses as well as implement joint projects, he said.

For his part, Lê Viêt Duyên pledged to promote trade between Vietnam and Venezuela, with Monagas in particular. The Vietnamese diplomat also expressed his wish to multiply Vietnam's agricultural production models in Monagas.

As part of his working visit, the Vietnamese embassy organized a seminar on trade in key products of Vietnam, which is currently the world's second largest exporter of rice, coffee and the largest exporter of cashew nuts and pepper. Vietnam is also one of the leading producers and exporters of furniture. Venezuelan companies in general, and Monagas in particular, could promote the export of wood to Vietnam, said the Vietnamese ambassador.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce Venezuela - Vietnam (CAVENVIET), has set up a stand of Vietnam at the Expo on Monagas 2022.
