This Thursday, May 12, Nicolas Regny, secretary general of the Lot prefecture, opened, with Jean-Marie Courtin, mayor of Gourdon, the forum "Climate change, I act by planning my territory", organized by the Departmental Directorate of Territories.

Aimed at the department's elected officials, the forum provides an opportunity to discuss the issue of climate change, its effects, and the measures that can be implemented at the municipal or inter-municipal level.

Pierre Taverniers, a forecaster and climate change specialist at Météo France, and Philippe Mompart, a member of the citizens' convention, made elected officials aware of the urgent need to take action on climate change in all areas. The Lot is also concerned.

The mayors of Saint-Pierre d'Aurillac (33), Tramayes (71) and Saint-Clar (32) shared their experiences of actions, obstacles and their support, in favor of adaptation to climate change and energy transition in their rural municipalities: heating network, soft mobility, multimodality and alternative and collective travel, eco-districts and sustainable development, vegetation and nature in the city, monitoring andand nature in the city, energy consumption monitoring, comprehensive energy renovations of buildings, co-construction of projects with residents and local governance.

The objective of this forum is to bring together local elected officials and institutional partners involved in the fight against climate change in order to demonstrate the leverage of actions, to motivate the transition to action and to make the territories more resilient. In order to propose solutions and support to the department's elected officials, a dozen local actors (Ademe, Adour Garonne Water Agency, Lot Department, DDT, PNR des Causses du Quercy, Quercy énergies, Occitanie Region, Syded, Territoire d'énergie 46) presented on their stands one or two actions that they can support, implement or finance.

This event was an opportunity to exchange ideas and make contacts, and to show some solutions to act locally by developing the territory.
