That is why the President of Faso has insisted, in his presidential programme, on the importance of considering digital technology as an essential lever for socio-economic development and the structural transformation of the country. Burkina Faso has, to its credit, many major achievements in the digital field. It is in this sense that the European Union has funded a study to get a clearer picture of the level of progress of digital in Burkina Faso to allow "identify and recommend opportunities for EU partnerships with Burkina," said Ambassador Wolfram Vetter, head of the EU delegation in Burkina Faso.

The priority objectives of the study will essentially be to promote access to affordable and secure broadband connectivity, promote the acquisition of digital skills, foster entrepreneurship, and improve the quality of life of the population. The priority objectives of the study will be to promote access to affordable and secure broadband connectivity, promote digital skills development, foster digital entrepreneurship and job creation, and promote the use of digital technologies as a catalyst for sustainable development.

"This study is timely. It will help to identify our achievements, identify our weaknesses, propose recommendations to boost our level of digitalization," said the Minister of Digital Economy who reaffirmed his strong expectations regarding the recommendations that will be made.

The study is conducted by a team composed of Europeans and Burkinabè. The activities, which have already been initiated, have made it possible, according to the person in charge of the study, to identify a flaw in the field of training, namely the lack of a master's degree in cybercrime in universities.

The results of the study will be presented at the end of 2021. At the end of the study will be developed solutions and digitalization programs for the digital development of Burkina Faso, which will be presented in February 2022.
