France-Mali/The cooperation between the Angoulême Hospital and the Segou Hospital (Mali) has enabled the training of a biomedical technician

In 17 years of cooperation, the Malian hospital in Segou has been able to benefit from the assistance of the Angoulême Hospital Centre (CH) to train one of its technicians in the maintenance of its biomedical equipment and also to benefit from equipment refurbished by the Angoulême establishment.

While the town of Ségou is twinned with Angoulême, in 2000 a mission was organised to the hospital in Ségou "in order to improve the quality of care for the population".A biomedical technician took part in a mission to the hospital in Segou in 2000 "to assess the needs in terms of developing skills, improving the quality of care and taking stock of the equipment. A biomedical technician took part in this first visit and the biomedical aspect [of the cooperation] began at that time," explained the biomedical engineer.
