France/129 000 € to support school canteens and the supply of fresh local food to the people of Ariège

Thanks to the deployment of the France Relance plan, relating to support measures for local authorities, producers, associations and individuals, designed to promote access to and supply of fresh and local food to school canteens, and to the largest number of our fellow citizens within the territories, €129,000 have been allocated to Ariège.

29 000 € to support school canteens

Many canteens want to stock up on fresh produce, reduce waste or eliminate plastic containers. Making this transition requires a significant initial investment, especially for small communities.

Support for school canteens in small local authorities wishing to develop their supply of healthy, sustainable and local products is now available to the tune of 50 million euros. For the department of Ariège the envelope is €29 000.

The France Relance plan therefore supports these school canteens to launch the dynamic, by making it possible to finance :

- the purchase of equipment and materials needed for cooking, processing fresh produce (peeler, vegetable spin-dryer, vegetable cutting robot, preparation robot...), or preservation (refrigerated cabinet, sorting table, salad bar, raw vegetable and fruit salad bar...).

- intellectual services (audits, studies, training of kitchen staff, etc.).

The aid is aimed at the most fragile communes eligible for the target fraction of the rural solidarity allocation in 2020, or their public inter-communal cooperation establishments.

The system for applying for aid has just been opened on the website of the Service and Payments Agency: https: //www.asp-public.fr/france-relance-soutien-de-certaines-cantines-scolaires.

To benefit from this aid, local authorities must meet the eligibility conditions and send an application file to the service and payment agency, which is responsible for examining the files and financing the selected applications.
