France/Trévières. The twinning committee changes its president
The general assembly of the twinning committee was held on Monday 8 March 2021 in the marriage hall of the town hall of Trevières (Calvados).
The commune of Trevières (Calvados) is twinned with the British town of Stockeinteignhead. The president, Mrs. Jocelyne Terree, opened the meeting by reminding us that "there was no activity in 2020. Our British friends did not come in April as planned. She indicated that they were not planning to come in 2021 at this time. She read the message sent by the English committee, which mentioned the suspension of the Britanny Ferries service until mid-May, and the ongoing vaccination. She then mentioned the death of a member of the committee as well as a member of the English committee and specified that, "in both cases, flowers had been sent". The purpose of the meeting was to elect a new board, and she invited the participants to consider their candidacy.
The treasurer, Mrs Richard, then presented the financial statement which showed a positive balance of €8,500, with the expenses mainly due to the insurance and the flowers. In 2020, there were 21 subscriptions and a grant of 600 € from the town hall. There was a debate among the participants about the cost of insurance when there was no activity and may not be in 2021. The financial statement was unanimously approved. The assembly then proceeded to the election of the board: Amand Le Marquand was elected president, the treasurer and the secretary renewed in their respective missions.
