New agricultural and rural development projects in Midelt
The Minister of Agriculture, Aziz Akhannouch, launched on Wednesday 24 March in Midelt several agricultural and rural development projects as part of the "Generation Green 2020-2030" strategy.

At the level of the territorial commune of En-Nzala, the Minister took note of the progress of the Program for the reduction of territorial and social disparities in rural areas at the level of the Drâa-Tafilalet region and the province of Midelt. He then visited the construction site of the road linking the RN 13 and the douars of Inmel and Almou Abouri and presided over the launching of the bypass going to Inmel and Wawmetart.
These roads will be built over a length of 76.9 km for aninvestment of 84 million DH. They will serve 7 douars (Inmel, Wawmatert, Ihndar, Aabari, Ibhbahne, Bourdim and AlmouAbouri) and benefit 4,300 inhabitants.
The programme to reduce territorial and social disparities in the Draa-Tafilalet region covers the drinking water, education, electricity, health and roads sectors. The budget allocated to the program is 4.46 billion DH, of which 22% is allocated to the province of Midelt. The sources of funding are divided between the Rural Development Fund (53%), the Regional Council (40%), the National Human Development Initiative (6%) and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (1%). The number of completed projects and those in progress reached 498 projects for an amount exceeding 2.22 billion DH, including 20% at the level of the province of Midelt.
Hydro-agricultural development of Anseguemir perimeter
At the level of the territorial commune of Ait Ayach, the minister visited the hydro-agricultural development project of the Anseguemir perimeter downstream of the Tamaloute dam on an area of 4,000 ha. With an overall cost of 85 MDH, the achievements concern the concreting of 65 km of main seguia and the construction of 16 water intake works on Oued Anseguemir.
Completed in 2013 as part of the Green Morocco Plan, this project has increased the added value of agricultural production by 28,000 DH/ha/year, created 4.This project has increased the added value of agricultural production by 28,000 DH/ha/year, created 4,000 additionalpermanent jobs, irrigated an additional area of 1,600 ha in a sustainable manner and converted more than 1,000 ha of cereals into trees.
Once thedam has been impoundedand the economic dynamism generated by the project in rural areas, a complementary hydro-agricultural development project will be carried out at a total cost of 220 MDH. It consists of a direct connection to the Tamaloute dam, a 4 km supply pipe and 35 km distribution pipes serving the seguias on both banks of the Anseguemir wadi.
This project, which is part of the Green Generation, and whose implementation period will be spread over the period 2021-2024, will eventually save 7 million m3 of irrigation water, plant an additional area of 1.The project will save 7 million m3 of irrigation water, plant an additional area of 1,000 hectares of apple trees, create about 550,000 additional working days and fight against soil erosion.
Construction of an administrative complex in Midelt
