Morocco/Sidi Bennour : Work starts on several development projects
To mark the 26th anniversary of the Feast of the Throne, work began on several development projects on Monday in various rural communes in the province of Sidi Bennour.
Launched in the presence of the governor of the Sidi Bennour province, Mounir Houari, the projects involve reinforcing the road network and developing infrastructure dedicated to primary education, with the aim of improving the services offered to the population, particularly in rural areas.
In the rural commune of El Kessib, work began on the construction and surfacing of a three-kilometre stretch of road linking Douar El Hjar and Douar Ouled Smaïl Sebti.
This structuring project, whose overall cost is estimated at 3.3 million dirhams, financed by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), aims to fill the gap in basic infrastructure and services and open up the local population.
In the El Amria commune, the project involves replacing prefabricated primary school classrooms with permanent ones, as well as building sanitary blocks and fencing, with a total of 16 rural schools targeted.
A budget of 9,497,558.45 dirhams has been earmarked for this major development project, including 8,937,840.00 dirhams financed by the INDH and around 559,718.45 dirhams by the Rural Development Fund.
On this occasion, Soukaina Chettabi, head of the social action division at the Sidi Bennour provincial prefecture, emphasized that these projects, launched to mark the 26ᵉ anniversary of the Fê te du Trône, are part of the INDH's commitment to the development of the region.te du Trône, are part of an overall vision to strengthen the province's road network, promote territorial and social cohesion, and reduce socio-economic disparities.
In a statement to MAP, she said that the first project, involving the construction and resurfacing of a stretch of road, was part of the drive to reduce the deficit in basic infrastructure, particularly rural roads.
She also emphasized that INDH is continuing its efforts, in partnership with local players, to open up rural populations and facilitate their access to various services, notably through the creation of local establishments and centers, as well as the reinforcement of rural roads.
The second project, to rehabilitate several elementary school in the province's rural communes, is part of the INDH program, which plays a key role in supporting and promoting the development of rural communities.The INDH plays a key role in supporting and promoting schooling, particularly in rural areas, by building and equipping new schools and rehabilitating existing ones.
