France/ Ploufragan. Terres d'Armor reiterates its support for associations
Fourteen associations working in the field of accommodation and support responded to the social landlord's appeal. A new agreement was signed on Thursday.
On Thursday, the local Terres d'Armor habitat agency welcomed representatives from fourteen associations. They responded to the call from the department's social housing leader to sign a partnership agreement, which has been in existence since 2014 and is a first in the social housing sector.
These structures work in the field of accommodation and support for various publics: people with disabilities, apprentices or young workers, welcoming migrant people. By making housing available to the signatory associations, the agreement has five objectives: the "housing first" approach, aimed at the homeless; social support; preventing eviction; social innovation; and reaffirming everyone's rights and obligations when it comes to renting.
7,000 inadequately housed applicants
"We're not just here to house tenants, but also to support them. Social innovation is important, because the idea is to leave no one behind," explains Gaëlle Routier, President of Terres d'Armor habitat.
"In Côtes-d'Armor, we have 7,000 applicants every year who tell us they are poorly housed," adds Jean-Denis Mege, director of the social landlord.
The fourteen signatory associations are: Adalea, Coallia, Noz Deiz, Amisep, Un chez soi d'abord, Habitat et humanisme, Soliha, Habitat jeune en Trégor Argoat, Casci, Adapei-Nouelles, Sillage, Penthièvre actions, Maison de l'Argoat and Siao 22.
"I'd like to thank your organizations, because they help improve the living environment for our tenants," concludes Gaëlle Routier.
In addition, Terres d'Armor habitat has obtained state-approved certification as an "Organisme foncier solidaire" (OFS).
"The main mission of the OFS is to acquire land (or real estate) and offer to build and sell housing accessible to low-income and middle-class households. The originality of the scheme lies in the dissociation between land and buildings: The OFS retains ownership of the land, while the purchaser buys only the building and pays a very low land fee," explains the organization.
