Congo/ Civil society: OCDH strengthens association networking
Some fifty members of associations from several localities, including those in the Likouala department, are building their skills in Brazzaville on a range of topics, including networking in the associative sector.
The capacity-building workshop for civil society organizations, organized by the Observatoire congolais des droits de l'homme (OCDH), opened on the morning of June 21. "Networking and advocacy are themes with which we are very familiar, but sometimes we don't understand their content. It is therefore necessary to enlighten everyone," explained OCDH Executive Director Nina Cynthia Kiyindou Yombo, in her opening remarks.
The workshop will also be an opportunity to discuss the problems encountered by the associations taking part in it in their respective localities. This will make it possible to diagnose and develop palliative strategies by reflecting on specific needs. Boosting the commitment of civil society players and assimilating the networking approach add to the list of objectives.
The French non-governmental organization Agir ensemble pour les droits is represented at this workshop. Léana Brielles, the organization's project manager, introduced the organization to the participants: vision, fields of action, partnership mechanism. " We support local structures in the implementation of their projects", she explained. The workshop was marked by a series of question-and-answer sessions designed to enlighten participants on themes designed to strengthen their capacities.
