Congo/ICT: Executives Trained in the Specifics of AI

From August 21 to 22, the Univ 2.0 association organized a training workshop in Brazzaville on the topic “Artificial Intelligence, Research, and Scientific Production,” under the patronage of the president of Marien-Ngouabi University, Prof. Parisse Akouango.

Bringing together doctors, researchers, professionals, and faculty members, the workshop led by Dr. Antonin Idriss Bossoto—head of the Communication Sciences and Techniques program, an international expert in Information and Communication Technologies for education, and a specialist in prompt engineering— aimed to help participants master generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools for research, optimize literature reviews using AI, produce high-quality scientific articles, develop an ethical and controlled approach to AI, and strengthen digital teaching skills.

Participants completed four modules, including an overview of generative AI and its specific features; AI and advanced literature reviews; the responsible use of AI; AI in research and scientific writing; and pedagogical guidance in the age of AI.

Indeed, in his address to the participants, he raised issues of academic integrity related to AI-generated content and plagiarism. According to Dr. Antonin Idriss Bossoto, issues of ethics and professional conduct in user education were also discussed. “AI cannot replace human intelligence; AI is merely a tool that serves as a complement; this simply means that to use AI, one must have a foundation of skills and intelligence that is optimized by these tools. In scientific writing, AI can be considered the first editor, helping to structure articles,” he explained.

Dr. Antonin Idriss Bossoto also noted that this AI training provides a range of essential tools for verifying the content made available. It can also facilitate improvements and the rephrasing of content to adapt it to different formats. The major advantage is the time saved. The educator remains in control; AI merely enhances the process.

Limitations and Risks of Generative AI

“You must exercise caution with what AI provides. Its use requires constant vigilance and a sharp critical mind, ” he advised.

According to Dr. Antonin Idriss Bossoto, this training workshop enabled a diverse group of participants—including faculty researchers, doctoral students, master’s students, and corporate executives—to update their skills and learn new tools that are useful not only in their daily lives but also in their professional and academic activities, particularly in teaching.
