The seedlings and seeds were collected with the soil in the areas damaged by the forest fires in Adana last year.

A sapling planting and seeding event was organized by the Regional Forestry Directorate within the framework of the Forest Week to revitalize the area of about 300 hectares damaged by the fires that broke out in August last year.

Governor Süleyman Elban recalled that the forest areas and 8 villages were affected by the fire that broke out on August 23.

"There will be no more areas without afforestation."

Recalling that the fire can be extinguished with 3-4 days of work, Elban said:

<< Our Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and we have said that this place will be reforested as soon as possible. The maintenance of this burning forest area has been done and completed by our forestry organization. About 70 percent of the burnt area will be planted by dispersal. The remaining 30 percent. The seedlings will be planted by planting. The seed dispersal process is almost complete. The planting of the young trees will be done in the next few days. The rest will be finished in autumn.

Governor Elban, Vice-Tamer Dağlı of the AKAdana Party, Kozan District Governor Şafak Gürçam, Regional Forestry Director Mahmut Yılmaz and citizens planted saplings.
