The call for projects for the 6th edition of Impact Camp, a support program for start-ups in partnership with Coca Cola, is launched in Morocco and Tunisia until January 1, 2021 on the theme of waste recovery.

The selected start-ups will participate in an intensive bootcamp from January 18 to 23, 2021, at the end of which a winning start-up will receive six months of operational support from Impact Lab, according to a joint press release from Coca-Cola and Impact Lab.

Start-ups wishing to participate in this programme can find detailed information on the "impactcamp.ma" website or register directly online at "https://www.f6s.com/icwastetowealth/apply", the press release states.

Impact Camp is an annual program to promote start-ups with a high social or environmental impact in Africa. It is designed by Impact Lab, a recognized regional accelerator in the support of start-ups, companies and institutions in innovation and digital transformation.

For this 6th edition, this program is aimed at start-ups in Morocco and Tunisia, where Impact Lab has its own offices. This choice also responds to the similar challenges faced by these two countries in the field of waste recovery.

Between 10 and 15 Moroccan and Tunisian start-ups will be selected according to the quality of their teams and the relevance of their solutions to participate in a 100% digital bootcamp which will take place from January 18 to 23. They will have access to training, coaching and expert meetings to accelerate the deployment of their solutions.

Finally, a jury will decide on the winning start-up, which will benefit from 6 months of operational support by Impact Lab's expert coaches. The start-ups with the best potential will also be able to explore potential opportunities for collaboration with Coca-Cola and its ecosystem.

Through its partnership, Coca-Cola is contributing to the challenge of value creation. The company, through its World Without Waste environmental program, has partnered with its bottling partners to support the collection and recycling of waste. Since 2010, the Coca-Cola Foundation has committed more than $26 million to recycling initiatives through 57 partner organizations worldwide.

The Coca-Cola/Impact Camp partnership aims to accelerate startups that are taking action to preserve the environment and promote the circular economy. Waste recovery offers many opportunities for innovative solutions that can be applied industrially to address major issues such as reducing the cost of primary and secondary packaging, developing alternative solutions for second life and implementing efficient collection.

The Coca-Cola Company is the world's largest beverage company, refreshing consumers with more than 500 brands of soft and still beverages and nearly 3,900 beverage choices. Spearheaded by Coca-Cola, one of the world's most valued and well-known brands, the Company's portfolio includes 21 brands with sales reaching $1 billion, 19 of which are available in sugar-reduced or sugar-free form.

In Morocco, The Coca-Cola Export Corporation - Morocco Branch and its three bottlers (NABC, ABC and SBGS), which form the Coca-Cola System in Morocco, produce 100% of their beverages in their 6 factories. They employ 3,800 people directly and 23,400 people indirectly. For each job created at Coca-Cola Morocco, 6 additional jobs are thus created across the value chain in the country, contributing to the development of the national economy.

As far as Impact Lab is concerned, it is a regional accelerator of innovation and start-ups. Among the first Moroccan incubators to offer structured support programs to start-ups, it has accelerated the development of more than 150 start-ups in North and West Africa since 2014. Impact Lab has also supported more than twenty partners, large companies and public institutions, in their innovation dynamics to meet their growth challenges in Africa.

It operates through two offices in Casablanca and Tunis, as well as programs deployed in Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Benin. The 5 previous editions of Impact Camp have supported 58 projects with a high social and environmental impact, half of which are still in operation.
