Senegal/Agnam Civol municipal council votes a budget of 500,363,000 CFA francs for this year

On Saturday, the municipal council of Agnam Civol, a commune in the Matam region (north), adopted a budget of 500,363,000 CFA francs, the implementation of which will focus on infrastructure, education and health.

This budget of 500,363,000 CFA francs was voted unanimously [by the council members present]. With this amount, we intend to develop projects related to health, infrastructure, education and agriculture", said Abdoul Aziz Diop, one of the mayor's deputies.

He was speaking at the end of the budget review, in the presence of Lamine Mané, the deputy sub-prefect of Agnam Civol.

Some fifty municipal councillors took part in the budget vote.

The municipal council also adopted a communal development plan (PDC) and the Senegal River Valley Resilience and Community Development Project (PRDC-FVS).

The PRDC-FVS is being implemented in Agnam Civil and 14 other communes in the Matam region. It is financed by the World Bank.

Agnam Civol town council will receive 122 million CFA francs from the program this year, and its PDC will receive financial support from the Matam regional development agency, according to the town council.
